FC North Bengal has started the girls soccer league.
They defeated Comilla United 3-1 at the Kamalapur martyr Sipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium. Rekha Akhter scored two goals and Maloney Chakma scored the other goal.
Originally the girls of Rangpur district are the power of North Bengal. The team has five players from the new Pushkurini Youth Sporting Club in Sadar upazila of Rangpur district.
The first eleven have been formed with them. In the first match, they proved that they have learned the basics of football and have come to play at the highest level in the country.
There is no excitement even with goals like twists and turns. The feeling is, they deserve the big win.
After passing among themselves, the attack is set up by the pass, opening the opponent’s goalie for a while. Midfielder Israt Jahan Ratna is on the feet of the captain of the team.
He did not get a goal, but he contributed in all three goals. In 2 minutes, Sultana’s goal started with his ball.
Sultana opened the scoring on the first post by taking control of Ratna’s pass on the left end and entering the box. The last of his four goals was a sight to behold.
In the 8th minute Paula shot put the team ahead 5-1. In the previous match, Comilla lost to Kamaripara XI in Jamalpur 3-1.
